A fixed strategy decays as markets change. HyperAgent runs a continuous, largely autonomous research loop that keeps discovering new ideas and, far more often, discarding them. We treat rigor as the product.
How the research loop works
Five stages stand between an idea and your account. Each one is designed to kill weak signals, not to wave them through.
Autonomous discovery
A research engine continuously proposes candidate trading signals derived from market microstructure — order-flow, volatility and liquidation dynamics — rather than a fixed set of hand-picked indicators. It explores far more ideas than any human team could review by hand.
Out-of-sample validation
Every candidate is put through walk-forward testing across multiple held-out folds: it is fitted on one period and judged only on later data it has never seen. A single lucky window is not enough — a signal has to hold up across independent slices of history.
Leakage & causality checks
Each signal is audited for look-ahead bias and data leakage — the most common way backtests lie. If a candidate can only 'work' by peeking at information it would not have had in real time, it is thrown out automatically.
The promotion gate
The large majority of candidates fail. Only signals that stay robust across folds, survive stress, and remain orthogonal to what we already run pass the gate. Rejection is the default outcome, and that is the point.
Shadow, then live
Survivors run in shadow mode against live markets before touching a single dollar. A strategy is promoted to customer accounts only after it clears live-readiness gates on forward data — never on the strength of a backtest alone.
Conservative by construction
Because rejection is the default, the bar to reach live trading is deliberately high. We would rather run one strategy that survives scrutiny than ten that flatter a backtest.
Verifiable, not assumed
Once live, every trade executes on Hyperliquid mainnet, where your account state is publicly verifiable on-chain. The research decides what to run; the chain records what happened.
Always improving
The loop runs continuously, so the engine you use is not frozen at launch. As new data arrives, tomorrow's candidate signals are tested against it.
